Trendiest Kitchen Features

Kitchen

Looking for the hottest kitchen features to keep up with the trends? Find out what works for you.

Our company Magazi Kitchens and Baths is a member of the National Kitchen and Bath Association and they conducted a survey for the latest trends and products that are most in demand by homeowners and buyers.  This is the first of two articles.

What’s Your Style?

As far as styles, in the past few years the traditional styles have been replaced by transitional, contemporary and farmhouse.  Top choice in colors are white and gray with blues, black and beiges following. Painted cabinetry is the trendiest while wood stain cabinets came in second.   There is a great love for built-in cabinet accessories to declutter the kitchen such as pull-out waste/recycling cabinets, cookie sheet and tray organizers and deep drawers.  Quartz has taken over the counter preference for its durability. Though it has many patterns resembling granite and marble, many homeowners still prefer granite and marble for its appearance.

Kitchen Faucet Options

As far as the selection of faucets, the single-handle control and pull-down faucets with a high arch are preferred in a stainless steel or brushed nickel finish. Stainless steel sinks led all other materials in lieu of composites, such as Silgranite, and fireclay.

The Right Fridge

Kitchen

The right kitchen features can make your space really feel like something that is an expression of who you are.

In refrigeration, the refrigeration/freezer columns ranked the most trendy type and the French door refrigerators the most trendiest style.  Many homeowners are adding wine refrigerators in their kitchen or recreation rooms.

Among cooktops, gas has taken over the electric models.  Convection ovens were followed by gas ranges.

Flooring

Hardwood flooring is still the first choice in the kitchen while ceramic and porcelain were second and engineer flooring was third.  Under cabinet lighting was the most popular followed by recessed fixtures. Pendants outranked chandeliers, track lighting and other decorative styles.

Technology in the kitchen is less in demand compared to other features such as: lighting controls, keypads, motion sensor faucets and task lighting.

Whatever the trend each homeowner should consider products that enhance their lives.
