When Monsignor Smith wanted to remodel the kitchen in the Rectory, he called upon George, A.G. Remodeling and Building, LLC. Together with Mary at Magazi Kitchen and Bath, we designed and installed a personalized kitchen to fulfill Monsignor’s requirements.
Keeping The Refrigerators
First, he wanted to keep his two 36” stainless steel refrigerators and we were able to move them into an alcove not far from the sink but out of the walking area.
Installing A Kitchen Island
Second, he wanted an island for prepping, storage and seating which we were able to accomplish by taking in a closet to enlarge the footprint of the kitchen.
Bring On The Earthy Tones
Third, he desired a kitchen with earthy tones, not too expensive, and lots of storage. We achieved this by recommending maple cabinets with a full overlay shaker door style in a honey stain. In our design, we used drawer base cabinets where possible in lieu of the standard base cabinets. As he liked to buy in bulk, we included in the design tall utility cabinets with pull-out drawers and shelves. He was very happy with the quality of the cabinets, the amount of storage and the price point.
A Functional Kitchen
Fourth, Monsignor Smith wanted a working kitchen as he enjoyed cooking. With a GE built-in 30” convection oven and microwave, a 36” cooktop and a 36” stainless steel vent with a capacity of 725 CFM, we were able to fulfill his request.
Choosing The Best Materials
Fifth, he was very active in selecting his floor tiles, porcelain Centec Cotta Teja; countertop, Silestone Mountain Mist; backsplash, Temple Brick with random religious inserts; and even his knobs, Rung Pulls in brushed satin nickel. It was a pleasure to work with him and quite an experience. With professional installation and creative design, Monsignors Smith’s remodeled kitchen was not only beautiful but functional, just the way he wanted it. We listen to our client’s needs and create a design to fulfill them.
